Three-screens video installation projected as a loop onto a black surface in a studio. In this project we tried to conceptually approach the brief of 'authenticity', raising the question of perceptual illusions by dealing with women body image and insecurities linked to it. In order to do so, we shot three feminine models, each one staying still, camouflaged into three different domestic situations using body painting.

The soundtrack accompanying the images has been made out of rhythmic and repeated domestic sounds found on the Internet. Because we wanted the audience to feel confused and intrigued about the illusions presented on screens, we decided to project it onto a black surface as three separate screens all playing at the same time, so the audience does not instantly realise and understand the trickery of camouflage. With this work, I wanted to extend my practical skills and gain experience on camera work and lighting on a movie set as well as develop my creativity to expand the boundaries of traditional media practice. Moreover, our video installation tried to be innovative in its form, being an installation played as a loop using split screen projection technology with a cadenced soundtrack; and in its content, dealing with women body image through the art of body painting and camouflage.
